We have donated over 300 emergency warm clothing packs to help the homeless and people in need this winter

We have donated over 300 warm clothing packs to four good causes to help the homeless survive the winter weather.

We have linked up with New Hope Community Church Food Bank, in Nottinghamshire, The Purfleet Trust, in Norfolk, Accommodation Concern, in Kettering, and the Emergency Food Stop, in Leicester, to help those in need during the festive season by providing 80 packs each made up of hats and scarves.

The accessories have been bought from Newlife the Charity for Disabled Children, which will therefore also be supported through the donation.

In total, we are donating over 300 of the packs to good causes across the communities where it trades, so they can be given to people who find themselves without anywhere to stay over Christmas.

We have also been encouraging customers and members to donate to local food banks in the run up to Christmas and to actively support those in the most need at this time of year.

Hannah Gallimore, Corporate Responsibility Manager at Central England Co-op, said: “These items will go some way to helping homeless people survive the winter months.”
