International Women’s Day is to be marked with a special virtual event open to the public featuring three inspiring female leaders from Central England Co-op as well as an array of diverse presentations.
The ‘Choose to Challenge’ event has been organised by the Southern Membership and Community Council at Central England Co-op and will be attended by our Chief Executive Debbie Robinson, President Jane Avery and Vice President Elaine Dean.
The two-hour event takes place on International Women’s Day on Monday, 8 March and features an eclectic mix of presentations from Leicestershire Police’s Serious Domestic Violence Unit, the Sian Green Foundation on supporting and caring for amputees, Leicester City Council on climate change and reducing our carbon footprint, and Fairtrade business Revolver Coffee.
Central England Co-op President Jane Avery (pictured) said: “It is an absolute pleasure to join with Debbie and Elaine for this fantastic event to celebrate International Women’s Day and I look forward to interacting with those in attendance to mark this important day in the calendar where we celebrate female empowerment and equality.
“There is a wide range of thought-provoking and stimulating presentations on offer covering some really interesting topics and I would encourage people to join us on Monday for what I’m sure will be a truly inspiring event.”
