Sweet treats for NHS heroes at Norfolk and Norwich Hospitals

Some of our NHS hospital heroes have been given a sweet treat delivery thanks to thankful colleagues.

Frontline workers at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital have had a delivery of doughnuts as a small token of appreciation by colleagues from our store in The Street, Brundall.

The 130 bags of doughnuts were shared among staff at the hospital to give them a sweet lift during their shift.

Store manager Mandy Duruk said: “The hospital is only about 15 minutes away and everyone at the store and in the community here is so appreciative of what the hospital is doing on the frontline, so we thought we would look to treat them.

“We spoke to the hospital’s head of fundraising and she said they would be happy to accept the donation, so we went along and dropped them off and they were going to be shared out between teams across the hospital.

“They were really chuffed and thanked us for everything that we are doing as well, which was really nice.

“The community here in Brundall have been brilliant through all this. It has been a big change for everyone, but we have all really come together, and we are proud to be doing our bit.”

We are currently offering a 10% discount for all NHS workers to say thank you for their efforts working on the frontline to help tackle the Coronavirus.

All NHS workers have to do is show their ID card when they visit any of our 242 food stores to receive 10% off all food and other essentials.

They will also be able to get priority access to our stores by moving to the front of any external queue when waiting to enter.
