Long life food items such as tinned meat, fish and vegetables are all urgently being sought for our in-store food banks.
Shoppers are being urged to pick up a few extra items in their shop to give a helping hand to those most impacted by the Coronavirus.
The most sought-after items from our food bank partners who are putting together emergency food parcels together are:
● Tinned meat, fish and vegetables
● Puddings, biscuits and cakes
● Long life milk and juice
● Small tins of coffee
● Cooking and pasta sauces
● Nappies and toilet rolls
This bespoke list will make sure the most in-need within our communities are supported throughout such a difficult time.
Central England Co-op Chief Executive Debbie Robinson said: “As a co-operative retailer, we want to make sure we are leading the way for our communities during this difficult time.
“We are asking people to show their co-operative spirit and donate an item or two so our food bank partners can provide emergency food and support to individuals and families.”
Food banks can be found in most of our stores, visit www.centralengland.coop to see if your nearest has one too.
