Team Leader Luke Barrow was the mastermind behind the ‘Crafts for Care’ campaign which saw an array of crafting materials collected and donated to local care homes in Leicestershire.
He said: “With residents completely cut off from the outside world and not able to see loved ones, the idea was that the crafting materials would then be used to handmake Christmas cards to send to friends and family.
"I felt it was important to keep residents connected during the pandemic, especially at Christmas when loneliness is felt most.
"The event took place across 16 different stores, who all collected donations from both colleagues and customers.
"At the end of the event, we donated to eight different care homes across Leicestershire, who were all completely blown away by the response.
“Stores also donated postage stamps, so that all residents had the chance to send a card home to their families and friends.”
